Stores and Restaurants
Forget something?
During the summer months the Forest Lakes General Store
South of the 260 is open (May through October) and has a good stock of food
and other items. Be aware they close early evening.
There is also gas and groceries available at the Rim Resort which is about a mile East of Merzeville Road on the North side of the 260.
There is a couple of slightly larger stores about 20 minutes away to the East in Heber-Overgaard.
Just as you enter Overgaard on the Right side (set in off the highway) is the Overgaard Food Center.
Further down the road on the Left is the Heber Market. There is also a Family Dollar in Overgaard.
Other than that for more selection you will need to go West down the rim to Payson (35 minutes).
Restaurants in the Area
- 260 Roadhouse – Located in front of Forest Lakes on the 260. This is under new management and has great food.
- Landmark at the Creek – Located in Christopher Creek. Menu consists of burgers and sandwiches. Open air seating and a patio by the creek.
- Creekside Steakhouse & Tavern – Located in Christopher Creek. Menu is standard cafe menu with hot entrees and pies for desert.
- Double D Bar & Grill – Tonto Village.
- Kohls Ranch Lodge – Located in Kohls Ranch. Standard cafe menu.
- Casa Ramos – Located in Heber. Decent quality sit down mexican food.
- Buffalo Bar & Grill – Located in Payson on the Beeline Highway. Menu consists of sandwiches and cafe food.
- Gerardo's Firewood Cafe – Located in Payson on the Beeline Highway North of the 260 turnoff. Nice high end Italian.
- El Rancho Restaurant – Located in Payson on the Beeline Highway across from McDonalds. Nice sit down Mexican food.
- Red Onion Lounge – Located in Heber. Menu is burgers and sandwiches.
- Pizza Facoty – Located in Payson in the Bashas shopping center plaza. Good pizza and salads.
