Campfires

There are very limited times that you can or should have a campfire. As you enter Forest Lakes from Highway 260 there is a sign on the Right side of the road that will say whether campfires are allowed or not. Even if it says they are allowed you should use good judgment. If things are really dry or windy then please do not start a campfire. Also when doing a campfire please keep it small in size and in the fire area provided. Be aware of trees looming overhead or nearby. Campfires are generally allowed just after Winter (March-mid May) and then again after some good rains (August forward).

Firewood

Our firewood is stacked against the fence on the Right side of the cabin. We'd love to have it all gone so feel free to use it. There is an ax in the back yard outhouse closet. Use the fire ring in the back yard for campfires. Be careful not to build it too big as there are trees overhead.

Make sure the sign as you turn onto Sheep Springs off Highway 260 says “Campfires Allowed”. Do not start ANY fires when the sign says “No Campfires Allowed” or You will incur significant fines!
